Facilities
The Bach at Kauri Mountain is a charming two-bedroom house situated
on five acres of bush and pasture. The large, partly covered deck
provides the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views of the
ocean and distant Poor Knights islands in almost any weather.
The house can accommodate up to six people and the property features
extensive lawns and a petanque court making it the perfect place
for a family holiday or a secluded getaway for a couple.
Kitchen
The kitchen is equipped with a gas oven and hobs, fridge/freezer and
plenty of storage space for longer stays. Tea, coffee and sugar
are provided.
Bathroom
The bathroom has a shower with towels, hand-towels, shampoo and soaps
provided.
Main Living Area
The bach features two open plan living areas each with a couch that
can fold down into a comfortable double bed. The front room has
a TV and VCR, views of the ocean and a lovely pot belly stove that
provides ample heat in the colder months. The larger living area
is situated adjacent the main deck. It features a stereo and is
perfect for kicking back and relaxing.

Local Attractions
The bach is a secluded getaway nestled on the edge of the 1000 acre
Kauri Mountain kiwi reserve, an area of beautiful native bush 30kms
east of Whangarei. Here you can relax away from the pressures of
modern life and take in the sounds of the many native birds that
crowd the bush behind. If it's a quiet, relaxing break you're after
then this is the perfect place. However for the more adventurous
the Bach's proximity to the beautiful beaches and mountains of the
Whangarei Heads, the closest only three minutes drive away, allows
visitors the opportunity to experience the very best of New Zealand's
bush, mountain and beach life. The Whangarei Heads is a unique area
offering an extremely diverse range of activities all within a 10
minute drive of the bach. Climb Mount Manaia or Bream Head for a
stunning panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and harbour. Then relax
on the white sands of Ocean Beach or Pataua. Go fishing or diving
at the many easily accessible and highly productive local spots
or visit the safe swimming beaches inside the beautiful harbour
and in the Pataua estuary. Ocean Beach and Pataua are also quality
surfing spots.

Cancellations
The Bach cancellation policy is that where cancellations
are received up to 30 days prior to arrival, the deposit will be refunded.
Cancellations received within the 30 day period will result in the
deposit being non-refundable. Cancellations within 7 days will result in full payment
unless the facility is re-booked.
